Kindroid publishes a subscriptions page; Replika does not, so its prices are Apple’s in-app purchase list, which shows every product a developer has ever sold, including plans nobody can buy today. Read them as a range. “Not listed” means the company’s own site and listing did not mention it that day, not that the feature is missing. LORAX column from the app, same date.

What Kindroid does better

It shows its work. The subscriptions page prints the free tier line by line, and puts the app price and the lower web price side by side. It also explains why the Ultra and MAX tiers exist and roughly what they cost to run. The memory page separates what is always in front of the model from what has to be fetched, admits the fetched part is less reliable, and puts numbers on the caps. Nobody else in this comparison publishes anything close, and Replika publishes nothing at all.

You also get several. That changes the shape of the product. Ten slots, rooms of up to ten, extra slots at $3.49, custom voices built from your own samples, and a monthly audio allowance stated as 1,000,000 characters. Replika’s entire design assumes one relationship, so none of that has an equivalent on its side of the table.

What Replika does better

Price and reach. The $7.99 monthly entry is half of Kindroid’s App Store price, the annual entries at $49.99 and $69.99 undercut $159.99 by a wide margin, and the listing covers five languages against Kindroid’s one. Replika also runs on Apple Vision and has been shipping since March 2017 according to its own store page. For a lot of people the honest recommendation is the cheaper one that speaks their language.

The calls are simpler, too. Kindroid’s voice and video are real, but they run on a credit meter you have to watch. The free tier gets 5,000 lifetime audio characters. Subscribers get a million a month, with top-ups sold in packs. Replika describes text, voice calls and video as part of the product without a counter attached. If you plan to talk out loud every day, that difference shows up in your bill and in your attention.

Where LORAX fits

Skip LORAX if you want Android, a web version, or any kind of call. We have none of them. We are also the most expensive subscription of the three. Consider it if the thing you keep wanting is a world rather than a workshop. More than 250 characters already live in the app. They write first, they sleep on their own clocks, and their group rooms keep moving after you close the app. Everyone in LORAX is fictional and AI-generated.
