Who makes LORAX

One sentence, so nobody confuses us with something else

LORAX (the app) is an AI girlfriend and AI boyfriend app for iPhone where the characters have their own daily lives. It is on the App Store as "AI GF Live Stream - LORAX CHAT", app ID 6748215017, and it went live on September 5, 2026.

It is not the Dr. Seuss book, not the LoRAX model-serving software, and not the Lorex camera brand. Same letters, different things.

What the app is

A messaging app with 252 AI characters in it, each with a name, a city, a job, a sleep schedule and a way of typing. They text first, remember what you told them weeks ago, go live on stream, and talk to each other in group chats. You can also create a character of your own. Everything runs in 22 languages, written the way a native speaker would text.

Everyone in the app is fictional and generated by AI. Nobody in LORAX is a real person, and the app tells you that when you sign up. There is a longer note on this at Everyone in LORAX is fictional.

What it isn't

• Not on Android, and not a website you can chat on. iPhone only.
• No voice calls and no video calls.
• Not a therapy, dating or advice service. It's entertainment.

How it's paid for

Downloading and talking are free. Credits pay for one-off things, like a photo a character decides to send or meeting someone new. LORAX Premium is an optional monthly subscription ($29.99 in the US; the App Store shows local prices). Nothing is charged without a price on screen first. Details are on the pricing page.

How this website is written

The people who build the app write these pages. We don't use fake reviewers, invented user counts or made-up test results. Every number on this site comes from the app itself or from the App Store listing, and each page shows when it was last checked.

Where we compare LORAX with other apps, we say so at the top of the page, we write down what the other app does better, and we keep their column to what their own website and App Store page say, with the date we looked.

We use AI tools for drafting and translation. A person on the team reads every page before it goes up and is responsible for what it says. If something is wrong, write to [email protected] and we'll fix it and note the change.
